Before the start
Is breakfast the most important meal of the day?
Sure – but we’d argue that every meal is equally important as long as you eat properly and at a good time to avoid stomach complaints when you least want them!
A balanced, nutritious diet with a good mix of carbs and protein can make or break your performance and recovery. And, of course, optimal hydration is key, too. And remember — no matter how tough or light your training or race is, good nutrition is key.
Whether you’re planning an intense off-road trip through the mountains or a chilled session at the gym, what you actually put on your plate might vary. And we’re certainly not telling you to eat beans over lean meat, rice instead of pasta (although it wouldn’t hurt to avoid food packed with fibre) but never forget that to eat well is to perform well.
